Abuja court terninates hearing on eligibility suit against Gen. Buhari

A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja this morning terminated further hearing on two separate suits challenging the eligibility of Gen. Buhari, to participate in the March 28th presidential election.

The Presiding judge, Justice‎ Ademola Adeniyi struck out the suits after the plaintiffs withdrew them through separate notices of discontinuance they filed before the high court. The remaining pending eligibility suit against General Buhari is the one filed by Ayakeme Whiskey. No date has been fixed for the hearing in the pending suit.

It has become imperative once again to address the media on the constitutional and political crises being foisted on our dear State, Ekiti by irritants of unbridled ambitions, who are not only devoid of spirit of sportsmanship but implacable even when all odds are against them and roundly rejected by the good people of the state.

It is no longer news that I defeated an incumbent governor in all the 16 Local Government Areas in the State and that for the first time in the history of Nigeria, attempts were made to use the courts to prevent someone who clearly won a governorship election from assuming office.

Since June 21, 2014 that the All Progressives Congress (APC) suffered that humiliating defeat,  the party has suffered defeats in the entire local government areas in Ekiti State in four other elections, the latest being the House of Assembly election in which APC won no single seat out of the 26 seats.

Ekiti people have been persistent in their preference for me and my party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to correct the ills of the last four years and set the State on the path of greatness.

Despite that Ekiti people have consistently spoken with their votes against the APC, Nigerians are witnesses to the litany of illegalities being woven by both the national leadership of the party and its Ekiti State chapter, all in an attempt to rob Ekiti people of the mandate freely given to me.

Despite receiving bloodied nose in both the political and judicial arena in the hands of the Ekiti masses as represented by me, these desperate politicians are unrelenting in their shenanigans, the latest being the information at my disposal that even after May 29, the state would not know peace.

I however trust Ekiti people to do what is right in securing peace in their land.
I have been severally informed that I became the prime demolition target of the APC national leadership because of my overt and unalloyed support for President Goodluck Jonathan during the campaigns.

Insiders in their party also told me that APC leaders were also yet to get over the fact that in the entire South-West, Ekiti was the only state they could not "rob" for General Mohammed Buhari (rtd). The eagle-eyed surveillance of Ekiti people ensured that.

I wish to declare unequivocally that I remain loyal to President Jonathan even after May 29 as my support for his re-election and administration was not about bread-and-butter. I was convinced he was moving Nigeria in the right direction, despite all the noise. I have no regrets supporting him. If same situation presents itself again, I would do it all over.

Let me state It clearly that if President Jonathan is deserted by all Nigerians today, I, Ayodele Fayose, would remain with him. I have chosen to be his last-man standing.

If for this show of loyalty to Mr President and my party, APC and its leaders believe that the best way to pay me back is to make Ekiti ungovernable, the decision on appropriate reaction belongs to the people, whose mandate I keep in trust.

It is ironic that those who said worse things about the President-elect, General Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) when they were in opposing parties, are the ones milling around him today, using him as an electoral talisman and demonizing us for saying things of lesser magnitude during a campaign that was mainly characterized by hate-messages from both divides.

I also want to put on record that if all PDP members decamp to APC today, I will remain the last-man standing for the party, even a I have no cause to denigrate the office of the president.

I also promise APC a robust and engaging opposition both in the South-West, and nationally, with me playing a prominent role.

Let me again state that I will continue to seek peace with my traducers and troublers of Ekiti.
Since the Supreme Court judgement which held my 2006 impeachment as illegal, unconstitutional, null and void and of no effect, my preachings have been peace. This is to see if a hand of fellowship as urged by elders in the state and the nation at large would bring sanity to the opposition camp. It definitely has nothing to do with cowardice; as Ekiti is a land of the brave.

In alerting the international community on what to expect from May 29 as regards the threat by the APC to make Ekiti ungovernable, I have decided to put on notice the United Nations (UN) and the African Union (AU) on the imminent reign of impunity by APC as from May 29.

Since Ekiti people are certain to resist the planned plundering of their land, Nigerians and the world at large should know who to hold responsible in the event of anarchy in Ekiti State in particular and the entire Yorubaland.

Nick Cannon says Mariah Carey will always be the love of his life

During an interview on The Meredith Vieira Show, Nick Cannon admitted that his ex-wife Mariah Carey will always be the love of his life.

"It’s one of those things, I’m a hopeless romantic too. Through this learning process, you never say never. To me one thing I know, that will always be the love of my life, always be my family and that’s never going to change."

Asked what he admires most about his ex, Nick said it's the way she keeps personal matters private.

“That’s one thing I actually admire Mariah because she is professional. You ain’t going to get nothing out of her. I was like you know what, I’m learning. I’m learning.”

Asked if he was dating anyone, Nick said he's single

"I’m not dating anyone . . . I don’t have time . . .” he said. “I’m trying to focus on being the best father I can possibly be, and business, we have so many things, from the book to my philanthropic efforts to all the shows and movies I’m producing.”

Woman cuts fetus out of pregnant mother's womb during brutal home attack, then returns it

According to a CNN report, a stranger stabbed a pregnant woman and cut her baby directly from her womb when the victim answered a Craigslist ad to buy baby clothes in Colorado, authorities said.

Police were called to a apartment in Longmont Colorado yesterday March 18th and on their arrival, they heard a woman inside screaming for help. An entry into the home revealed a 26-year-old woman with stab wounds in the stomach. She told them she had been 7 months pregnant, and was assaulted, stabbed and the fetus had been forcefully cut out of her womb.

It gets interesting. The victim was then transported to Longmont United Hospital, where she had surgery and is expected to survive but the suspect implicated for the stabbing, a 34 year old woman, then arrived at the same hospital with the baby at the same time, and claimed she had miscarried. Sadly, the premature baby did not make it. Officers added one and two together and arrested the woman who is now facing charges of attempted murder and child abuse.

The names of the two women have not been released, but police said they did not know each other.

Are these parents for real? Cheating in schools is a huge problem in India but the malpractice took a different, sad turn this week in Bihar city when parents of 10th-grade students climbed the wall of a school building and perched from windows of classrooms as they handed cheat sheets to children writing the tests inside.

Photographs and videos showing parents, friends and others scaling the school wall - Spiderman-style - went viral in India today. The video also shows police officers standing nearby watching helplessly.

Under Bihar’s anti-cheating law, dozens of 12th grade students were expelled and their parents detained last month in cases of cheating in tests. But that hasn't stopped the parents. Sad!

Many have moved all appointments away to make room for the work on their calendar. As at the time of writing this, Peter Okoye, Jimmy Jatt, Omotola, Timaya, Sound Sultan, Uti Nwachukwu, Waje, Desmond Eliot, AY, Bovi, Julius Agwu, Basket Mouth, Praiz, Tuface, Monalisa Chinda,Olamide, Chioma Chukwuka, Ramsey Noah, Ebuka Obi Uchenndu had all confirmed presence.

 Emmanuel very clearly stated that the walk in not a fund raiser for himself or any other individual, “it is solely for the singular aim of generating buzz and public awareness for kidney disease with the use of well-meaning celebrity faces ” he said when asked what the eventual aim for the exercise was. Cool TV, AIT, Channels and NTA would cover the walk while those at home can call in on a live radio show on cool fm to speak to the celebrity participants.

A nephrology consultant would also be around to take on more technical questions concerning the disease. Call time being 8am, at no 267a Etim Iyang cresent, Victoria Island. 20 year-old Isaac Martinez was shot in the chest by the alleged Mesa shooter in Arizona, after he refused to give up the keys to his car. Instead of immediately calling for help, Martinez took a selfie of his bullet wound and posted it to social sharing site Snapchat

When the suspected shooter, Ryan Giroux, approached Martinez demanding the keys to his car, he refused and Giroux fired at him.

For anyone who didn’t get enough detail from the photos, Martinez gave his 1,200 Facebook friends a point-by-point account of how the shooting went down:

“He (the suspect) came in and demanded my keys for a getaway car. Of course i said no, and next was him pulling out a gun and cocking it. Soon as i saw it i started stepping back. And yelled for everyone to step back and get down.
Next thing i knew i was hitting the ground, got up as fast as i fell, and ran out the back exit. At the same time the assailant had started taking off in my chef instructors [sic] car. When i saw he had gone. I noticed the cops and fire trucks down the street and went there.”

He followed up the picture with an update of how he was doing:

“So im home and well! I have no complicated injuries and should heal fine,” Martinez’s Facebook posts says. “I had a bullet hit me from behind and go through my shoulder and out my coller area. Any higher or lower it coulda hit a artery, or shatter my shoulder blade. It was a miracle hit.”

Martinez continued to update his social media followers throughout his recovery, posting a picture of himself in a hospital bed, with the gunshot wound visibly showing

Martinez is living proof that if getting shot doesn’t pull someone away from his phone, nothing will.

The idea that men are clueless allows them to get away with all manner of bad behavior that would have been intolerable just a generation or two ago. 

Men know that most women want marriage. Women need to know that many men will do everything in their power to get all the benefits of marriage, except without commitment. While you’re getting exasperated thinking he’s stupid because he spends money on you, he’s running you.

Men understand women on a level that you can never begin to grasp, because it’s from the mindset of a hunter. And a good hunter has an intrinsic understanding of his prey. Women make the mistake of thinking that they are wiser than men. Immoral men understand a crucial component of the female psyche: For most women: Hope springs eternal, so if he plays his cards right, he can string you along for years without proposing.

Most of us know at least one woman who waited for a man to marry her, waited sometimes for a decade or more. She played house with him, took care of him, cooked, cleaned, etc. but he never married her. Finally she ends the relationship and he marries the next woman he dates after only six months or maybe less.

I think we all know a woman like this because it reinforces something we already know: MEN MARRY THE WOMEN THEY WANT TO MARRY. And if you’re not that woman you are not just it. It’s absolutely foolish to play wife for a man who can’t be bothered to actually marry you.

Bottom line is; if you've reached the point in your relationship where it’s time for “The Talk” and it hasn't happened, or he brushes it off when you raise the subject, move on. Why? Because men who want to get married, get married. It’s not that he’s not into marriage, or he’s still dealing with “issues” from a previous relationship, or whatever other folder he puts out there. There’s only one reason a man doesn't get married: HE DOESN'T WANT TO. At least, NOT TO YOU. Don’t fool yourself.

A man who wants you will be rushing YOU to the altar. Why? Because he’s terrified that you’ll get away from him. A man in love is all too aware that he has a pearl beyond price. Further he knows there is a plethora of other predatory males just waiting to snatch her away. You don’t have to beg him or persuade him or coerce him, trap him with pregnancy or fast for days. The only thing you’ll get for all your trouble is a decimated self-esteem and the knowledge that you wasted your skinny years on a man who didn't want you in the first place.

Davido to Feature Drake on Album???

So y’all remember when Davido promised a collaboration with Drake….right? Turns out it wasn’t just talk!
Just last week, word on the street was that the pop star might be hitting the studio with American rapper, Meek mill ( read here if you missed) after his manger, Kamal Ajiboye was spotted in L.A at Meek Mill’s studio alongside ace cinematographer Sesan Ogunro.
Now, it seems the OBO who’s currently hard at work on his album  scheduled for release this year might just be featuring Canadian rapper, Drake afterall. Why?
Well…. yesterday, Davido gave a hint with a cryptic tweet from his twitter page where he tweeted: “6 God X OBO”.

Lemme break it down, ‘6 God’ is the title of Drake’s popular single released late last year. Also, ‘6’ is some sort of identity for the rapper whose hometown, Toronto has the area codes 416 and 647…….get it? Meanwhile, Davido’s OBO we all know stands for Omo baba olowo hence, 6 God X OBO.

Hopefully we’ll be getting MeekMill, Rick Ross and Drake collaborations off his upcoming album!
