FA Cup- West Ham Hammers Liverpool out of FA Cup..

FA Cup: West Ham 2-1 Liverpool (aet) highlights

Angelo Ogbonna's extra-time header put West Ham into the last 16 of the FA Cup with a dramatic fourth-round replay win against Liverpool.
The Hammers led before half-time when Michail Antonio guided in Enner Valencia's cross at the far post.
Liverpool responded shortly after the restart when Philippe Coutinho's low free-kick sneaked under the home wall.
Both sides hit the woodwork in an open tie, before Ogbonna met Dimitri Payet's free-kick to delight the home fans.
The Hammers will visit Championship side Blackburn in the fifth round on Sunday, 21 February.

Magic of the cup?

Game will go down in history - Bilic

West Ham manager Slaven Bilic has said he would rather win the FA Cup than finish in the Premier League top four, and he showed his intent by picking a near full-strength side against an inexperienced Liverpool team.
Reds counterpart Jurgen Klopp, as he had in his previous three FA Cup matches, rang the changes with only goalkeeper Simon Mignolet surviving from Saturday's Premier League draw against Sunderland.
But any worries - for the neutral observer, at least - that the hosts would dominate their youthful opponents proved unfounded.
The two sides were evenly matched throughout the 120 minutes as a high-tempo game, containing plenty of goalscoring chances and drama, provided a sharp contrast to the dour 0-0 draw at Anfield.
Either side could have nicked an extra-time winner, with Christian Benteke missing three clear-cut opportunities for Liverpool.
And former Juventus defender Ogbonna's first Hammers goal provided the perfect finale for the hosts in what might be the final FA Cup tie at the Boleyn Ground before their move to the Olympic Stadium.

Hammers up for the cup?

West Ham are three-time winners of the FA Cup, but have not lifted the trophy since Trevor Brooking's famous header gave them victory in the 1980 final.
But with Bilic keen to focus on the competition, could he lead the east London club to silverware in his first season as Hammers boss?
The Croat will not publicly admit it, but he must realise his team have a great chance of reaching the last eight as they face a Blackburn side winless in eight league matches and in the lower reaches of the Championship.
France international Dimitri Payet will be central to their ambitions of a possible run to Wembley, with the mercurial midfielder again instrumental in this victory.
The 28-year-old, who the Hammers want to sign an improved deal, outlined his worth by starting the move that led to Antonio's goal and supplying the teasing free-kick that Ogbonna converted.

Benteke to blame?

Since his £32m summer arrival from Aston Villa, Benteke has failed to win over many Liverpool fans, who have questioned the wisdom in spending so much on a striker who has struggled to fit into the Reds' system.
And the Belgian missed the chance to win over the doubters by firing Liverpool, seven-time winners of the FA Cup, past the Hammers.

Christian Benteke
Benteke put four of his nine shots on target (green arrows), seeing two blocked (yellow) and three missing the home goal (red)

Benteke had nine efforts at goal - three times as many as any other player - but extended his goalless run to 11 matches in 2016.
Hammers keeper Darren Randolph denied him from close range in both halves of normal time, but Benteke should have scored when put clean through in extra time.
However, he could only shoot at the legs of the Republic of Ireland international - a miss which proved costly.
"It's not the nicest moment in his career but he has to work hard," said Klopp.
"He wants to score and we need him to score. We will work on it in the days, weeks and months."

Sturridge return boosts Liverpool

Klopp sees 'lot of good' despite loss

Despite the defeat, there were some positives for Liverpool fans - most notably Daniel Sturridge returning from a hamstring injury to make his first appearance since early December.
Sturridge has spent almost 55% of his time at Anfield injured, but once again showed how important he could be if he manages to stay fit.
The England international gradually grew into the game after arriving as a 59th-minute substitute, showing glimpses of neat footwork and his sharp eye for goal.
His best opportunity came early in the second half of extra time, when he picked the ball up near the halfway line before driving forward unopposed and fizzing a shot inches over the Hammers crossbar.
Too early to start thinking of an England recall?

Man of the match - Michail Antonio (West Ham)

West Ham v Liverpool
Antonio impressed at both ends of the pitch. The £7m summer signing scored his fourth goal in six home games and was also denied on two other occasions. But he also impressed defensively, making a game-high five successful tackles when he filled in for the injured Joey O'Brien at right-back

What's next?

Back to Premier League action. Sixth-placed West Ham go to relegation battlers Norwich on Saturday, while ninth-placed Liverpool visit bottom side Aston Villa on Sunday.

Stats you need to know

  • Liverpool played their 40th game in all competitions in 2015-16, more than any other Premier League team
  • Philippe Coutinho's goal was Liverpool's first in 318 minutes of action against West Ham in all competitions this season
  • The Hammers have lost just one of their past 11 FA Cup games at home, winning six and drawing four
  • West Ham's win was their first in eight FA Cup meetings with the Reds, drawing three and losing four
  • Benteke has gone 11 games without scoring for Liverpool in all competitions, mustering 30 shots in those matches

Chronicle of a Yahoo Boy ( Internet Fraudster) Part One

Many of us are aware of this old adage “Even a broken clock is right twice a day”, if this is correct, then I will not be making much mistake if I say there’s no completely bad person.

This tends to be a true life story written by Teniola  Adedotun Michael.

Chronicle of a Yahoo boy  ( Part One)

Dele is a brilliant boy who seem loved by his teachers in school. Right from his young age he have always wanted to become a lawyer..Dele's father who happens to work in one of the renowned hospital in Ilupeju, Lagos( Ajanaku Hospital) a hard working, neat and loving father, except for sometime when he decides to shy away from his fatherly duties (If there is anything like that).

Dele's mother popularly known as (Iya Dotun) as she is fondly called by guys around Ogunji street for her jovial and street wise or lets say her street credibility have on many times settle disputes among the so called Street Niggas...lol..
She had a phone boot where she sells recharge cards, drinks and also make calls with the well known (Samsung Blue face)..uhhmm does anyone still remember that phone who was sold at the rate of Iphone 5 now...life revolves tho...

Yahoo Yahoo !!! story can never be complete in Lagos without making mention of Ilupeju boys..It is argued upon that Yahoo Yahoo originates from Ilupeju...while some say Shomolu or mushin...anyway this isn't a debate..lol..

As a young teenager still growing I sit and listen to my big bros talk about going to the cafe...Opening yahoo and Western union..I seem lost and fascinated..They come home gisting the next day the cheque has cleared..Maye don pay...they buy their so called baggies..lol..jamming up to 50 Cent's "Go Shawty..It's your birthday..."gone are those days...lol

I gradually grew to become their errand boy all in the name of receiving stipend from them...
I remember sneaking severally without my mom's permission to Mercy cyber cafe at Ogunji street, the then Head quarter/ business hub for the so called Yahoo boys in the earlier 2000's. My friend (Ope) and I pick tickets on the cafe's floor just to log on to www.miniclip.com, www.eville.de just  to play video games..I marvel at the pace at which they type..some even switch from their mother tongue just to sound like a white man...

After my secondary school Certificate...(To be continued)

Quiz of the Week: Who did Kanye West almost interrupt at February's Grammy awards

Question Image

Who did Kanye West almost interrupt at February's Grammy awards when crashing the stage and then thinking better of it?

Miss Universe : Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez was mistakenly named winner of the 2015 Miss Universe contest

The host of the Miss Universe has apologised after mistakenly naming the wrong woman as winner, leaving Miss Colombia empty-handed.
After the error, Ariadna Gutierrez was instead declared runner-up and surrendered her crown to Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach.
#MissUniverse2015 became Twitter's biggest trend of the night as social media users expressed their disbelief.
Ms Wurtzbach has since told reporters that she wishes Ms Gutierrez well.
"I'm very sorry, I did not take the crown away from her and I wish her well in whatever she wants to pursue after this pageant," she said.
Ms Gutierrez also addressed fans in a backstage video that has been shared on the pageant's official page.
She said: "Everything happens for a reason so I'm happy for all that I did."
At the end of the night in Las Vegas, Ms Gutierrez was named first runner-up followed by Olivia Jordan from the United States.

The host Steve Harvey responded, saying it was "his mistake" and he would take responsibility for not reading the winning card correctly.
He made another mistake when he misspelled both Colombia and the Philippines in an initial tweet. The tweet was later deleted.
"I'd like to apologize wholeheartedly to Miss Colombia & Miss Philippines for my huge mistake. I feel terrible," he tweeted in a second attempt. The message was re-tweeted more than 70,000 times.
"I don't want to take away from this amazing night and pageant. As well as the wonderful contestants - they were all amazing."

'Miss Information'

Shock and disbelief erupted online following the incident.
"Talk about awkward," described one Twitter user who "couldn't help" but find the gaffe "hilarious".
Another user, Mark Critch from Canada, said: "And the winner is - Miss Information."

Facebook users also expressed their opinions on a post shared on the pageant's official page.
It was shared more than 62,000 times and received more than 17,000 comments from viewers across the world.
"That was poorly handled. Both of these gorgeous ladies deserve an apology because that was embarrassing for both of them. I literally felt both of their pain," read a top comment by Lemmy Cliff.
"That was the most annoying Miss Universe contest ever," said another commenter Andres Felipe Arbelaez. "The host was horrible and Miss Colombia should have won."
Pageant fans from the Philippines also began to express anger at the incident.
"Our Miss Philippines didn't get her shining moment," said a fan on Facebook. "It feels like she and our country were robbed of the winning moment, shame!"

While some Twitter users remained upset over the mistake, others began to tweet out messages of support.
"Don't feel terrible. Everyone makes mistakes," said Pedro Da Cunha.
"To err is human... to forgive is divine," said another user in reply to Mr Harvey's apology.
In an incident apparently unconnected to the competition, at least one person was killed and dozens injured after a car ploughed into a crowd next to the Miss Universe venue.

Pres. Buhari Denies Receiving $300,000 from Dasuki

President Buhari Nigeria
Who will get named next in the #DasukiGate arms deal saga? There are so many rumours about certain people’s involvement floating around.
And this time, President Buhari’s name has somehow come up, as it is being alleged that he received $300,000 from ex National Security Adviser,  Sambo Dasuki.
The presidency has denied the allegations via the following statement, Vanguard reports:
Our attention has been drawn to reports making the rounds, especially on internet-based media, that President Muhammadu Buhari received $300,000.00 and up to five armoured SUVs from the Office of the National Security Adviser in the aftermath of the attack on his convoy in Kaduna last year.
We unequivocally deny that President Buhari received $300,000.00 or any monetary compensation whatsoever from the Jonathan Presidency or any of its officials, in the aftermath of that attack, or at any other time since then.
While it is true that one armoured SUV and one untreated SUV were sent to the President in the aftermath of the attack, the vehicles were in keeping with his entitlements as a former Head of State under the Remuneration of Former Presidents and Heads of State (And other Ancillary Matters) Decree of 1999.
Section 3, Sub Section 1 of that Decree provides that three vehicles will be provided for former heads of state and replaced every four years.
There was therefore nothing untoward, illegal or tending to corruption in former Head of State Buhari and Presidential aspirant, as he then was, receiving vehicles, to which he was statutorily entitled, from the Federal Government of Nigeria.
President Buhari had in keeping with his austere, spartan and frugal disposition shunned most of his entitlements as a former Head of State, but was prevailed upon by his supporters to accept the two vehicles for his personal safety in the aftermath of the dastardly attempt to assassinate him.
It is preposterous to think that the President will allow his acclaimed reputation of honesty and incorruptibility to be tarnished by accepting a questionable monetary compensation from a discredited regime.
