Don Jazzy Backs Wale’s Decision To Relocate To Nigeria

wal
Yesterday, I wrote a report about how Maybach Music Group ‘MMG’ rapper, Wale Folarin aka Wale announced he might be relocating to Nigeria very soon.
Apparently, Don Jazzy had something to do with this.
Wale, who is of Nigerian decent with family roots traced to Ondo State, Nigeria, added in his tweet that he recently had a chat with Mavin boss, Don Jazzy, and he feels he’ll be in good hands coming to Nigeria.
When one of his followers tweeted at him that he can’t relocate to Nigeria, Wale responded by saying: ‘I have a house in Ondo tho.’
See tweets below: –

Figo Launches Campaign Manifesto, Moves For Expanded World Cup

Fifa presidential candidate, Luis Figo, will consider a bigger World Cup, sin-bins and offside law changes, if elected in May.
The Ex-Portugal international proposes expanding the world showpiece possibly to 40 or 48 teams, while also suggesting Fifa could stage two 24-team tournaments simultaneously on two continents followed by a knockout phase in one nation.
The 2001 Fifa Player of the Year was speaking at the launch of his presidential campaign manifesto on Thursday at Wembley Stadium. He is seeking to unseat Sepp Blatter, who is vying for a fifth four-year term tenure. Fifa vice-president Prince Ali bin al-Hussein and Dutch football association chief, Michael van Praag, are also candidates.

The 42-year-old also plans to spread half of Fifa’s $2.25bn revenue over four years to associations to fund grassroots football. He said $1bn of Fifa’s $1.5bn wealth reserves should be redistributed to the 209 affiliate national federation.
Figo’s economic plans could appeal to smaller nations in Fifa, which are part of the 209 members eligible to vote in the May 29 congress in Zurich.
”There are obstacles that will have to be overcome,’’ he said through a translator. ”This image we are aware of this organization that leads football is not the appropriate image. I trust that most of (the national associations) want change and are ready for change, a democratic change, a change so that we achieve transparency and a change that goes back to football itself.”
Incumbent, Blatter, has already won the support of federations of Africa, Asia, South America and Oceania.
The ex-Barcelona, Real Madrid and Inter Milan winger yet retains hopes voters will be convinced to back him to repair the football ruling body, which has faced several allegations of corruption in recent times.
He also advocates for trials for “sin-bins,” a rule- (also known as the penalty box) in Rugby and ice hockey- which makes player sits to serve the time of a given punishment, for an offense not severe enough to merit outright expulsion from a match.
He wants revision to the old offside rule where a player is penalized regardless of whether they are directly involved in play.

IK Uche Scores In Villarreal Europa League Win

Ikechukwu Uche was on target for Villarreal as they scraped a 2-1 win against FC Salzburg in a hard-fought Uefa Europa League round of 32 first leg tie at the Estadio El Madrigal on Thursday.

Jonathan Soriano’s away goal means the Spanish La Liga outfit yet have it all to do in the second leg next Thursday in Austria- a day to the round of 16 draw.
Uche capped Villarreal’s spell of sustained pressure in the opening half-hour with an opening goal but, however, fluffed a chance to put paid to the Yellow Submarines’ qualification job late on, after the impressive Denis Cheryshev had restored their goal cushion following Soriano’s leveler.

Uche gave the hosts a first-half lead, blasting in Peter Gulasci’s rebound of Luciano Vietto’s effort in the 32nd minute.
The Nigeria international could have seized initiative with a third goal having being played in by Vietto on a counter but squandered the chance.
The win ended a two-game losing streak for Villareal. Uche’s goal was his first in the competition since September (2-2 draw with Borussia Monchengladbach), and his seventh in call competitions so far.

The boss from the English Premier League made the pledge during his meeting with the NFF president, Amaju Pinnick, at the Arsenal FC’s training ground.
According to Premium Times, many other issues were also discussed, like increasing stock of Nigerian-born players at the club.
Pinnick characterized the meeting as “extremely positive and encouraging”.
He was further quoted as saying:
“As we had always known, Arsene is very knowledgeable; vast in his knowledge and appreciation of Nigeria as a footballing country, and widely philosophical in his general approach.”

Pinnick disclosed some of Wenger’s views regarding in what country footballers should play for.
“He told me that he has never stopped any player from opting for whichever national team he wants. He said to me that he always tells his players to follow their hearts and not allow people to push them. He further assured that if Nigeria extended a call-up to either or both of his players, he will have no objection if the players say they want to go.”
“Arsene told us that he will gladly do what he can to assist where we want, and has already started giving encouraging signs towards the capacity building exercises for our coaches at all levels.”

Flying Eagles Await Report On Musa Yahaya Injury

Nigeria Under-20 winger, Musa Yahaya is expected to undergo scans to determine the extent of a knee injury.
The Tottenham Hotspur youth player sustained the injury in the 39th minute of Wednesday’s 2-0 win over Ghana in Tema, after a dangerous tackle.
The Flying Eagles returned to Abuja from Accra on Thursday having featured in two friendly warm-ups against the Black Satellites. The 2-0 win came on the back of a previous 2-2 draw in the capital city on Monday.

Centre-back Zaharadeen Bello is another injury concern for the African Youth Championship-bound Eagles. He missed the friendly win over Ghana through a calf injury.
Yahaya, who scored in the 2-2 draw in Accra, did not participate during a gym session at the Fifa Goal Project in Abuja on Friday morning.
“We will review their cases and see what can be done promptly,” team doctor Ozi Salami disclosed.
In the meantime, coach Manu Garba has maintained his team still need to correct few “lapses” noticed during the test matches against Ghana this week.
“We hope to be ready when we have picked the final squad of 21 players for the African Youth Championship (AYC) and have worked on some of the grey areas we noticed in Ghana,” said the Fifa U-17 World Cup-winning coach.
“We therefore hope to soon begin our training camp in Gambia so we could concentrate on some of the lapses we saw in the team.”
Nigeria will play hosts Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Congo in Group A in the AYC. The 2015 AYC begins on March 8 in Dakar.

German Nurse Apologizes For Killing 30 Patients, Because “He Was Bored”

A German male nurse who confessed to killing not less than 30 patients between 2003 and 2005 have apologized to the victims’ families in court Thursday. Sky News have more:
Identified only as Niels H. due to Germany’s strict privacy rules, the man has been on trial in an Oldenburg court since September for the alleged murders of three patients.
Though a court-appointed psychiatrist said earlier this month that Neils H. had admitted to killing at least 30 patients in his care, prosecutors believed that number could be over 100 people. According to the expert, Niels H. admitted to injecting seriously ill patients with an overdose of a potentially dangerous medicine so that he could resuscitate them.
In court on Thursday, the former nurse apologized for his actions. “I am honestly sorry,” the 38-year-old said, according to Agence France-Presse. “Usually the decision to do it was relatively spontaneous.”
Niels H. reportedly told police after he was arrested that he killed the patients because “he was bored.” Prosecutors also said that he wanted to practice his “excellent” resuscitation skills, Deutsche Welle, a German broadcaster, reported in November.

Fayose – Buhari’s Foreign Trip, Cover For Medical Treatment In US

Ayo Fayose-BuhariGovernor of Ekiti State, Mr Ayodele Fayose, has alleged that the secret trip made yesterday by the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Muhammadu Buhari, to the United Kingdom was a perfect cover for his (Buhari) journey to the United States for medical treatment.
Fayose insisted that the trip had exposed APC leaders, especially Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, who he alleged, were making frantic efforts to cover up the true health status of the presidential flag bearer for their selfish gains.
The Director of Media and Publicity, for the APC Presidential Campaign Organisation, Malam Garba Shehu, on Thursday announced Buhari’s trip to the UK, where he said the former head of state “will hopefully give a talk at the prestigious foreign policy hub, the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House in London”.
But the Ekiti governor, who has maintained his position that Buhari was nursing a terminal ailment, accused the APC campaign of being economical with the truth.
Fayose, in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka said: “The truth is that Buhari travelled out today to seek medicare in USA.
“If the APC people are saying otherwise, let them publish the picture of Buhari boarding the plane and granting interview to Aviation Correspondents at the Abuja Airport.
“While I am happy that the APC people that are packaging Buhari finally hearkened to my plea that they should allow him (Buhari) to seek medicare abroad, I must say that it was evil for the APC to have lied that Buhari travelled on a working visit.
“These APC political merchants should say the truth and save Nigeria from the possibility of another Yar’Adua experience.
“They should tell Nigerians that Buhari is actually sick and lack capacity to rule Nigeria and that they are only packaging him, hoping that he will become incapacitated if he becomes president so that they can take over power by proxy”.
While wishing Buhari speedy recovery, Governor Fayose said; “Like I have maintained, the north should wait till 2019 to produce a younger, energetic and healthy president of Nigeria”.

Muslim Cleric Kills Friend For Money Ritual, Shares His Body Parts

a
The Lagos state Police have arrested a Muslim cleric, Fatai Afobaje (pictured far left) for conniving with some of his friends including one security officer (middle) to kill and share the body parts of his friend, 40-year-old Kwara indigene, Rafiu Suleiman (pictured right) for money rituals at Oko Agbonla, Magbon in Badagry area of Lagos state on Friday February 13th. Punch reports:Alfa Fatai and Suleiman became friends after they met inside a public transport where Suleiman paid for the transport fare of Alfa Fatai as a mark of respect. After that, the two became friends.
“The two men met in a commercial bus. Suleiman had offered to pay the transport fare of Afobaje after the conductor was about embarrassing him because he had no change. The Alfa then said he would like to know him better for being so gracious to him (Alfa). So, Suleiman gave the Alfa his address and asked him to visit. That was how the friendship started. From what we found out, Suleiman, who worked as a crane operator, would collect his salary and give half of it to Alfa at the end of the month and that happened for a long time.”a source who knew both men said
Another source narrated how the late Suleiman was invited by Alfa Rafiu at about 8pm and how he connived with security guards in the area to kill and share the body part of his friend
“As soon as the victim got to the street’s gate, the security guards surrounded him and asked who he was looking for. When he told them, they flogged him with charms and he died. They then called the Alfa to come and when he arrived, they shared his body parts. While one collected his head, another demanded all his intestines, while another asked for his br**sts, which were given out.” the source said
Brother to late Suleiman, Yinusa Wahab,  said his brother’s boss was the first to notify his wife of his absence from work. The wife then called him and prevailed on him to go in search of her husband at the Alfa’s place where they went with policemen on Monday February 16th and found his mutilated finger inside a pot with few Naira notes and his headless body in a stream close to his house.

Why NASS Must Reject Obanikoro’s Ministerial Nomination – Lagos APC

Musiliu ObanikoroThe Lagos chapter of the All Progressives Congress has warned once again that unless Nigeria is a banana republic, there is no reason why Senator Musiliu Obanikoro’s name should be considered again for ministerial position, given his deep involvement in the Ekitigate election scandal.
In a release in Lagos by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Joe Igbokwe, the party says Nigeria must not continue to reward persons with questionable and dubious character in a nation where good and quality people are not in short supply.
“Ekitigate scandal is such a weighty and monumental fraud that cannot be swept under carpet as it rocks and undermines the very foundation of our democratic journey.
“Senator Obanikoro and his forty thieves in Ekitigate scandal must be brought to book to serve as deterrent to others. When offenders are not punished the hearts of the people are schemed to continue to do wrong.
“What is the purpose of reappointing Senator Obanikoro who has just lost an election in Lagos as a Minister if not to continue to use the exalted position to plunder our common patrimony at this critical point in the nation’s history?
“Senator Obanikoro must be kicked in the a*s and thrown out of the hallowed chamber of the National Assembly for decimating and desecrating our hard-earned democracy.
“With this singular act of representing this very bad and ugly candidate, the President is sending the wrong signals to the world that Nigeria is a nation of anything goes”.

Colombian Woman Changes Name To ABCDEFG HIJKLMN OPQRST UVWXYZ

NAMES
A Colombian woman said she has won her long-term battle with the government to allow her change her name to the entire alphabet. UPI reports:
The woman, a university art teacher and fetish model previously — but not originally — known as Ladyzunga Cyborg, 36, said her government ID card now officially lists her with the fist name ABCDEFG HIJKLMN and the last name OPQRST UVWXYZ.
She said it took her a year of arguing with the Colombian National Registry to officially get her new name, which she said was chosen for being unusual and hard to pronounce. “I started looking for a name that nobody had in Colombia, or the world, so I thought ABCDEFG HIJKLMN OPQRST UVWXYZ,” she told the Las2orillas website. “I’ve changed my name so people wouldn’t know it’s me.”
“It’s not because I was disturbed by it, but because I wanted to always bring an element of surprise,” she said. Daniel Molano, from the Colombian National Registry, said the name should not have been rejected in the first place.
“If a civil notary had refused to modify her name in the civil registry, he would have broken his work obligations,” he said. “Basically, no matter how unusual, this is something that should always be allowed.”

Senegal Seeks Seven Year Sentence For Ex-president Wade’s Son

Karim Wade, son of Senegal's former president Abdoulaye Wade, attends a rally by his father's political party PDS in Dakar
A Sengalese special prosecutor is seeking a 7-year prison sentence for Karim Wade, the son of a former president, on charges of illegal enrichment, Wade’s lawyer said on Wednesday. Reuters report:
The prosecutor also wants to suspend Wade’s political rights, a threat to his career. Wade headed several ministries during the presidency of his father, Abdoulaye Wade, and is seen by many in the historically stable West African country as a future leader.
The 46-year-old Wade denies any wrongdoing. His arrest has stoked divisions and large crowds have gathered outside the courtroom on several occasions since the trial began seven months ago, prompting police to fire teargas. Graffiti scrawled across buildings in the capital, Dakar, reads “Free Karim!”
In his closing remarks, prosecutor Cheikh Tidiane Mara late on Tuesday also sought a 250 CFA billion-franc fine and the confiscation of Wade’s assets. “The prosecutor is equally asking that Karim is denied his political and civil rights and that is their real goal,” lawyer Amadou Sall told Reuters.
Defense lawyers, who have frequently boycotted proceedings, are due to make a concluding address. The court will then deliberate before passing a final judgment.

Barack Obama Says US Is ‘At War With Those Perverting Islam’

_81096591_025934642-1
US President Barack Obama says the Unite States is “not at war with Islam” but that the country is “at war with the people who have perverted Islam”. BBC reports:
He was speaking to representatives from 60 nations attending a three-day event on extremism that follows attacks in Denmark and France.
Mr Obama said the world had to confront the ideologies that radicalise people.
He said those heading groups like Islamic State and al-Qaeda were not religious leaders but terrorists.
Mr Obama said associating Islamic State or al-Qaeda with Islam would be buying into the propaganda of those groups, challenging critics who have questioned him for not describing recent attacks as the work of “Islamic radicals”.
Mr Obama has asked Congress formally to authorise military force against Islamic State in Iraq and Syria. The US and its partners have carried out air strikes against the group since last year.

Car Bomb Kills More Than 30 In Eastern Libyan City

0
Not less than 30 people were feared dead in car bomb explosions in the eastern Libyan city of Qubbah on Friday, parliamentary speaker Aguila Saleh told Reuters:
Saleh told Al-Arabiya television the car bombs had targeted a petrol station next to a security building. Qubbah is Saleh’s hometown. He said the bombs appeared to be a retaliation for Egyptian air strikes on Islamist targets in the eastern city of Derna, which is close to Qubbah.
“We are announcing seven days of mourning for the victims of Qubbah,” he said. “I think this operation was revenge for what happened in Derna.” The pan-Arab news channel Al Jazeera earlier said at least 13 people had been killed in three explosions.
Reuters was not immediately able to get confirmation or details from Libyan officials. On Monday, Egypt launched air strikes on suspected Islamic State targets, a day after the group released a video showing the execution of Egyptian Coptic Christian workers.
Libya is in chaos, with two governments and parliaments vying for legitimacy and territory, four years after Muammar Gaddafi was toppled.
